A suspicious device found in a Haltom City neighborhood Wednesday morning was not a bomb, Haltom City police said.

The gadget was an electrical device with wiring, but it didn’t pose any threat, authorities said.

Initially, police received a report that the device described as a battery with tape on it and ticking was found in a central Haltom City neighborhood, police said.

A bomb squad was dispatched to the site in the 3500 block of Rita Lane in Haltom City, just blocks away from the Haltom City police station and City Hall.

The device was found about 6:15 a.m.

Authorities had advised residents to stay indoors as bomb squad members investigated.
