Rockets at Mavericks

7:30 p.m. Wednesday, American Airlines Center, Dallas

Radio: ESPN/103.3 FM, KFLC/1270 AM (Spanish)

Records: Rockets 30-17; Mavericks 26-20

About the Rockets: Houston is in second place in the Southwest Division, four games behind San Antonio, who they beat 97-90 on Tuesday to snap a two-game losing streak. ... The Rockets are fifth in the NBA in scoring (105 ppg), eighth in rebounding (44.9 rpg) and 20th in points allowed (101.6 ppg). ... The Rockets’ backcourt of James Harden and Jeremy Lin is as lethal as any in the NBA. But Harden, who averages 23.7 points and 5.5 assists, sat out Tuesday’s win in San Antonio with a bruised thumb and might not play Wednesday. ... Dwight Howard is averaging 18 points and is fourth in the league in rebounds, averaging 12.5. ... Chandler Parsons is one of the league’s rising young stars. Parsons had a game for the ages Friday when he scored a career-high 34 points against Memphis. That included making 10 consecutive 3-point baskets in the second half. That’s an NBA record for 3s in a half and a Rockets record for 3s in a game.

About the Mavs: All these off days must seem like a vacation to Dallas, which hasn’t played since defeating Detroit 116-106 on Sunday in the opener of this four-game homestand. It’s the first time the Mavs have had two consecutive off days since Dec. 24-25. ... Dirk Nowitzki has 25,984 career points and needs 16 to become the 13th player in NBA history with at least 26,000 points. ... Shawn Marion has 6,963 career rebounds and needs only six to pass Bob Lanier for 35th all-time. ... Devin Harris is already paying dividends for the Mavs. Harris has been back for just five games after undergoing off-season left foot surgery, but responded with 14 points and four assists Friday in Brooklyn and 14 points and seven assists Sunday against the Pistons. ... The Mavs are 2-1 against the Rockets this season and are looking to win the season series. The Rockets won 113-105 on Nov. 1 in Houston. The Mavs won the last two meetings —123-120 on Nov. 20 at home and 111-104 on Dec. 23 on the road.
