Run to benefit developing countriesA Celebrate Children one-mile fun run and 5K will be held from 7-11:30 a.m. March 22 at Katherine Rose Memorial Park, 303 Walnut Creek Drive. This fun family-friendly event benefits Compassion International and their efforts to provide safe drinking water to children and their families within developing countries. A former Compassion-sponsored student, who once suffered from a lack of clean water, will also be attending and sharing his story. Participants will be able to see filters and watch how they clean the contaminated water. Local businesses will also set up booths with interactive activities. Participants are encouraged to bring spare change within a water bottle for the Change for Hope drive. Cost is $10-$30. Journey shows how to build wealth New York Times best-selling author and nationally syndicated radio show host Dave Ramsey is introducing a new program, The Legacy Journey. The Legacy Journey is a seven-week course taught on DVD by Ramsey that shows families and individuals what to do once they have control of their finances, and helps them navigate their way through building wealth so they are able to leave a lasting legacy. The Legacy Journey is a follow-up class to Ramsey’s extremely popular course, Financial Peace University (FPU). The purposes of Walnut Ridge Baptist Church’s Celebrate Recovery ministry are to have fellowship and celebrate God’s healing power through the Eight Recovery Principles.
