The city has three new department directors after two longtime department heads left and one of their departments was split into two parts.

At the end of 2013, Chief Financial Officer April Nixon and Parks and Recreation Director Pete Jamieson retired.

Jamieson’s replacement, Lemuel Randolph, comes to the city after serving as the director of parks, recreation and open spaces in McKinney. Randolph has 20 years of experience directing municipal parks departments and will start with the city Feb. 3.

Randolph’s new position will put his work on a larger scale for a larger city with more parks.

Meanwhile, the Financial and Management Resources Department, which Nixon oversaw, will be reorganized into two separate parts.

Jennifer Wichmann, former assistant director of management resources, is now director of management resources, including legislative affairs, the Action Center, the Office of Communication, the Office of Mayor and Council and the city manager’s office.

Wichmann, who has worked for the city for 10 years in progressively higher roles, will also work with the Arlington Tomorrow Foundation.

Former Budget Director Mike Finley is now director of finance, which includes the Office of Management and Budget, treasury, accounting, purchasing and payroll. Finley has been with the city for 17 years.

Filling in for Finley as assistant director of fiscal policy is Erin Roseman, formerly the cash and debt administrator. Roseman has been with the city for six years and has also worked in the Office of Management and Budget. She and previously worked in the city of Fort Worth’s budget office.
