Mavericks at Cavaliers

Noon Monday, Quicken Loans Arena, Cleveland

Radio: ESPN/103.3 FM, KFLC/1270 AM (Spanish)

Records: Mavs 24-18; Cavs 15-25

About the Cavs: After a horrific start to the season, the Cavs have won four of their last six games. That includes winning at Denver 117-109 on Friday. In that game, Kyrie Irving scored 23 points, Texas ex Tristan Thompson had 20 points and 10 rebounds, Dallas Skyline product C.J. Miles contributed 19 points, and Anderson Varejao finished with seven points, 16 rebounds and seven assists. … The Cavs are just 22nd in the NBA in scoring with only 96.7 points per game, but they exploded for 68 points in the first half at Denver. … Irving runs the show for the Cavs and is averaging 21.5 points and 6.0 assists per game. … Thompson is an aggressive player and averages 12.2 points and 9.8 rebounds. … The Cavs made a nice trade recently, picking up Luol Deng from the Bulls. In his first five games with the Cavs, Deng is averaging 18.4 ppg.

About the Mavs: Monday’s game is the opener of a three-game road trip for the Mavs. They also will play at Toronto on Wednesday and at Brooklyn on Friday before hosting Detroit on Sunday. … The early start is part of the tribute the NBA is paying to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. … The Mavs come in after their poorest performance of the season Saturday when they were blown out by Portland 127-111 at home. The Mavs trailed the Blazers by 38 points (111-73) early in the fourth period before the reserves made the final score respectable. … Dallas is 10-11 on the road and has won six of its last eight road games. … After undergoing surgery on his left foot in August, guard Devin Harris made his season debut against the Blazers and finished with six points and two assists in 17 minutes.
