About the Stars: Dallas has collected only three points in nine games in 2014, including Saturday’s 3-2 overtime loss to Minnesota. The Stars sit 10th in the Western Conference standings, nine points out of the last playoff spot. ... The Stars also have experienced a scoring drought, netting more than two goals only once in the past six games. ... Tyler Seguin has recorded four points in the past three games and leads the team with 45 points (21 goals, 24 assists). ... After Monday’s game, the Stars open a five-game homestand beginning Tuesday against Minnesota.

About the Predators: Nashville is averaging only 2.4 goals per game, which is 25th in the NHL. But the Predators have scored 11 goals in the past three games while earning two victories. ... The Predators also have struggled in goal with Pekka Rinne out since Oct. 24 with a hip infection. Rinne recently was cleared to begin more strenuous rehab activities, but there is no timetable for his return. Nashville on Wednesday acquired goaltender Devan Dubnyk from the Edmonton Oilers. Dubnyk made his first start Saturday in a 5-4 loss to Colorado. ... Defenseman Kevin Klein (illness) is questionable.
