A man was shot during a robbery at a store in east Fort Worth Friday night, officials said.

Police officers who were dispatched at 7:15 p.m. to the Berry 99 Cent store, 936 E. Berry St. found the wounded man, said Cpl. Tracey Knight, police spokeswoman.

He was taken to John Peter Smith Hospital in critical condition with “possibly life-threatening” wounds, said Matt Zavadsky, a MedStar spokesman.

“Robbery detectives are still on scene investigating,” Knight said about 10:15 p.m.
