Regarding Bud Kennedy’s Jan. 10 column, “Life, death and politics of abortion”: He stated, “So Marlise Muñoz is now in limbo, supported solely for the sake of her unborn child …”

I am glad he used the word child, so we can all realize there are two lives at stake.

Marlise made her wishes clear to not be left on life support for herself, but did she ever state what she wanted for her unborn child? The fact she did not get an abortion speaks to her wanting to bring her child into the world. Before life support was created both lives would be dead right now.

Thanks to medical advancement we can and should save a life in the womb just like we save unseen lives crying out in a burning building. A firefighter knows every life matters — even the life of animals are saved by these brave men and women.

Life begins at conception because that is God’s law. The laws of man are chaos when they do not respect the law of God.

Marlise will be taken off life support once her child is safe, so it is really a matter of timing. Erick, her husband, will have the joy of raising their child.
