Dallas Cowboys defensive tackle Jason Hatcher is going to the Pro Bowl, after all.

The Cowboys’ defensive tackle, snubbed in the voting despite leading the Cowboys in sacks last year, was named to the team Thursday in place of Baltimore Ravens nose tackle Haloti Ngata.

Hatcher announced his selection on Twitter: “Thank you to all my fans for voting for me. It’s a Honor and a privilege to announce I’ll be attending the 2014 pro bowl. #CowboysNation,”.

Hatcher's good news about the Pro Bowl came one day after the birth of his fourth child and third son.

Hatcher tweeted: “I’m so emotional right now. This been the best 24 hours of my life a baby boy and a pro bowl. God is good!!!!”

Hatcher, who had a career-high 11 sacks to lead the Cowboys this season and was second on the team with 33 quarterback pressures, will replace Baltimore’s Haloti Ngata on the Pro Bowl roster.

This could be the last time that Hatcher wears a Cowboys’ helmet in a game. He’ll be an unrestricted free agent this off-season.

Hatcher joins two other Cowboys players making their first Pro Bowl appearances this year: wide receiver Dez Bryant and left tackle Tyron Smith.

Phillips watch

Dallas Cowboys tight ends coach Wes Phillips is interviewing with the Washington Redskins, a source confirmed.

Phillips, who has an expiring contract, was elevated to his current role with the Cowboys in 2013. In the previous two seasons, he had been an assistant offensive line coach for Dallas. Phillips initially joined the Cowboys as a quality control assistant when his father, Wade Phillips, became the team’s head coach in 2007.

The Cowboys’ tight ends last season produced 94 catches, 1,058 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns.
