Burleson school officials alerted parents Thursday morning to a report of a man who approached a third-grader as she walked home from school. The man drove away when he saw the student’s mother, officials said.The warning was posted on the district’s website Thursday morning by Superintendent Bret Jimerson. Burleson police had alerted school officials Wednesday night.The incident occurred Wednesday afternoon as the Bransom Elementary School student was walking home near Parkridge Boulevard and Springhill Drive. Her mother was following her in a vehicle.A man, driving a silver two-door hatchback, pulled up beside the girl and asked whether she had lost a puppy. The student said “no,” but the man continued to ask questions about the dog.When the man saw the mother walking toward them, he drove away.The driver was described as white, bald and in his late 30s or early 40s. He spoke with an accent. The mother was unable to get a license plate number or the make and model of the car.
