About the Mavericks: Dallas is seven games over .500 for the first time since it was 36-29 near the end of the lockout-shortened 2011-12 season. ... The Mavs have won four of their past five games, including the last three against New Orleans (twice) and Orlando. Dallas won four consecutive games from Nov. 16-22 this season. ... Dallas will play five of its next six games on the road, including a two-game road trip that ends Friday in Phoenix. ... Wayne Ellington got out of the sick bed to score a season-high 12 points and collect a season-high six rebounds in Monday’s 107-88 victory over Orlando. Ellington and the Dallas reserves outscored the Orlando bench 42-14. ... The Mavs are 85-50 all-time against the Clippers, including 36-31 on the road. Dallas has won 18 of the last 24 meetings.

About the Clippers: The Pacific Division-leading Clippers have won five of their last six games. The only loss was Jan. 4 in San Antonio (116-92). ... The Clippers are well-rested after last playing Friday in a 123-87 victory over the LA Lakers. ... Point guard Chris Paul won’t play Wednesday and has been sidelined since he separated his right shoulder Jan. 3 during a 119-112 win in Dallas. ... In the last four games while starting for Paul, Darren Collison has averaged 17.5 points, 6.5 assists and 2.25 steals while shooting 65.9 percent from the field and 60 percent from 3-point range. Collison, who played for the Mavs last season, had 20 points against Dallas in the game Paul was injured. ... Blake Griffin has muscled his way to 22.3 points and 10.4 rebounds per game. .... DeAndre Jordan had a career-high 25 points and 18 rebounds in the last game against the Mavs. He is averaging 9.5 ppg, leads the NBA in rebounds (13.4 rpg) and is third in blocks (2.49 bpg).
