About the Oilers: Their 15 wins and 35 points are both second-fewest in the NHL but Edmonton did win two of its four games last week, its only wins in the past eight games. ... Edmonton has the fewest road wins (7) in the Western Conference and it is last in the league in giving up 3.48 goals per game, including three or more in the past eight games. ... The Oilers won in a shootout in Dallas last month while the Stars blanked the Oilers 3-0 in Edmonton in mid-November.

About the Stars: They need a slump-buster. The Stars have lost a season-high six games in a row — all in regulation. They haven’t lost seven in a row since March 2009. ... The Stars’ top scorers — Tyler Seguin (21 goals) and captain Jamie Benn (15 goals) — have mirrored the team’s struggles.
