In the latest example that Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel is on the cusp of making himself available in the 2014 NFL Draft, ESPN reported Tuesday that Manziel has selected a Houston-based agent to represent his interests. ESPN.com, citing sources, reported that Manziel will be represented by Select Sports Group as his contract agency and that LRMR, a firm run by LeBron James’ business partner Maverick Carter, will be in charge of his marketing.

It was unclear from the report whether Manziel had signed any documents to finalize the arrangement.

Manziel, the 2012 Heisman Trophy winner, has yet to make an official declaration about his draft intentions but has dropped multiple hints since February that he is leaning in that direction.

A school spokesman said Tuesday that A&M has no formal news conference slated for Manziel in regard to an NFL announcement and has been waiting for Manziel to meet with family members and inform them of his decision.

The ESPN report, citing sources, said Manziel will announce his decision Wednesday to forgo his final two seasons and join the pros.

Keller Central ex honored

Sanchez made 46 tackles this season and had two interceptions — one in the Sooners’ upset of Alabama in the Sugar Bowl and the other, which he returned 74 yards for a touchdown, in a victory over Kansas State.
