Cowboys’ salary cap situation starting 2014: $22 million over

The Dallas Cowboys begin the off-season with 20 of 22 starters signed for next season. They have 50 players under contract for 2014 for $136.9 million. The Cowboys also have $11.8 million in dead money they will have to eat, including $6.9 million for Jay Ratliff and $2.1 million for Nate Livings. That means they currently have a total salary figure of $148.7 million for 2014, the most of any team in the NFL. The 2014 cap is projected to be $126.3 million.
