About the Chiefs: Saturday will be the first postseason appearance for Kansas City since 2010. The Chiefs are seeking their first playoff win since Jan. 16, 1994 at Houston. … Kansas City tied the 2008 Miami Dolphins and 2012 Colts for most wins by a team that won two or fewer games in previous season. … Quarterback Alex Smith has a 1-1 career postseason record with five touchdowns, no interceptions and a passer rating of 101.0. … Smith played strong on the road this season. He completed 60.4 percent of his passes with 11 touchdowns and only one interception. … Since 2011, Smith is 30-9-1 as a starter. … Pro Bowl running back Jamaal Charles led the AFC in rushing for the second consecutive season. Hilton had a career-best in catches (82) and receiving yards (1,083). … Tight end Coby Fleener 52 receptions for 608 yards and four touchdowns, all career highs. … Linebacker Robert Mathis, the team’s only Pro Bowl selection, had 19.5 sacks. … Linebacker Jerrell Freeman led the team in tackles with 126. … Cornerback Darius Butler had four interceptions and led the team in passes defensed with 15. … Last week, kicker Adam Vinatieri became the seventh player in NFL history to reach 2,000 regular-season career points. He has 2,004. Vinatieri holds the NFL postseason record for field goals made with 48 and points with 196.
