The Morning After

Serves 1

 1 1/2 ounces Pearl coconut vodka

 1 ounce coconut water

 1/2 ounce lemon sour (available in liquor

 stores or make your own by combining

 one part water to one part sugar to two

 parts lemon juice until sugar is dissolved.)

 Splash of Sprite (or soda water for fewer


 Lime wedge for garnish

1. Build the drink in a bucket glass filled with ice by pouring in the vodka, coconut water and lemon sour in order.

2. Top with splash of Sprite or soda water and garnish with the lime wedge.

Eggnog and mulled wine coaxed us through many chilly, and sometimes brutally icy, December nights, but with our New Year’s resolutions now in full swing, we’d prefer a cocktail that goes easy on the calories. Good thing we found The Morning After from Del Frisco’s Grille, a coconut water concoction that’s as light and refreshing as it is indulgent, and a welcome departure from all that holiday spice. Substitute plain soda water for the splash of Sprite the recipe calls for to save even more calories for dessert.
