The UT Arlington women’s basketball team has one more chance to win a game before the start of Sun Belt Conference play.

The Mavericks (0-10) will host Texas A&M Corpus Christi (6-3) at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at College Park Center. UTA is coming off a 75-63 loss at UT Pan American in Edinburg.

Senior point guard Laila Suleiman led the Mavs with 17 points on five 3-pointers. Guard Tahlia Pope finished with 11. Suleiman has shot 62 percent from 3-point range in the past two games.

UTA leads the all-time series with West Texas A&M 9-2, but has dropped the past two in the series, both of which came in the 2011-2012 season when both teams were members of the Southland Conference.

“We’re trying to finish ballgames,” UTA coach Krista Gerlich said. “We’ve been really close, but we’ve got to do something at the end of the game to be able to win.”
