The UT Arlington women’s team continued its winless start to the season with a 75-63 loss to UT Pan American on Wednesday night at UTPA Fieldhouse.

Senior guard Laila Suleiman led the Mavericks with 17 points. Tahlia Pope and Malaika Green also reached double figures with 11 and 10 points, respectively.

UTA (0-10) has one game left to try to get a win before heading into Sun Belt Conference play.

In the first half, UTA shot 56 percent from the floor and was 6 of 9 from beyond the arc.

UTPA (6-4) didn’t lead until going up 47-45 early in the second half and extended its advantage with a 6-0 run before being able to hold off UTA down the stretch.

The Mavericks return home to face Texas A&M-Corpus Christi at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at College Park Center.
