About the Avalanche: Defenseman Ryan Wilson is expected to return Tuesday from a back injury. Wilson hasn’t played since Nov. 6 against the Nashville Predators. ... Jean-Sebastien Giguere will be the starting goaltender after Semyon Varlamov drew the start Monday in the first of the back-to-back set against the Stars. ... Colorado started the season 12-1-0 and is 10-8-1 (21 points) over its last 19 games.

About the Stars: Dallas opens a two-game homestand and will play seven of its next nine games at American Airlines Center.
