Finals week is past the UT Arlington men as they return to the court after an 11-day layoff to face Houston Baptist at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Sharp Gym in Houston.

The Mavericks look for their second win in a row after defeating Dallas Baptist 81-53 on Dec. 3 and face a team they haven’t lost to since 1979.

The Huskies are struggling to string wins together after losing to Michigan 107-53 on Dec. 7, but they have an electric scorer off the bench in Rob Lewis. He’s scored in double digits in 17 of his last 18 games.

UTA has been working on defense over the last few weeks, so this will be the first test to see if the high-scoring Mavericks can slow down another offense. Houston Baptist is only scoring 64.1 points per game, so this test isn’t insurmountable.
