UT Arlington looks to put a winning streak together when it hosts Weber State at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at College Park Center.

Brandon Edwards leads a resurgent Maverick team that beat Dallas Baptist 81-53 on Tuesday, snapping UTA’s five-game losing streak. Edwards has six double-doubles and is averaging 18.4 points and 10.6 rebounds per game.

Coach Scott Cross said Edwards is doing all the right things in his senior year.

“He just goes after every rebound,” he said. “It’s just like Dennis Rodman. Every time the shot goes up, he goes after it.”

Getting a win would make finals week much easier on the Mavericks, who won’t play again until Dec. 14 at Houston Baptist.
