About the Stars: Dallas is coming off a 4-3 victory Tuesday over the Chicago Blackhawks, and the Stars did it without Tyler Seguin, who has missed the past two games with concussion-like symptoms. Coach Lindy Ruff said Seguin could return to action in Toronto. ... However, Dallas could be without forward Ryan Garbutt, who is questionable after blocking a shot with his ankle Tuesday.

About the Maple Leafs: Toronto has lost four straight (0-2-2) and is also banged up. Forward Phil Kessel left practice Wednesday with an undisclosed ailment and coach Randy Carlyle said he was not sure if his top wing will play Thursday. Center Tyler Bozak (upper-body injury) and right wing Colton Orr (elbow) also missed practice. — From online reports
