Put on your running shoes, dress warmly and come hungry this holiday season in Trophy Club.

The town has plenty of holiday activities planned, and it all gets underway soon.

Saturday, Dec. 7 will feature the Find Santa 5K and Fun Run. It begins at 9 a.m. at Trophy Club Park, 2885 Trophy Park Drive.

Breakfast will be provided by the BARA Church for participants, family and friends. Event shirts are included with registration while supplies last, with youth sizes also available.

The routes are on pavement, so wear appropriate shoes and attire.

Cost is $20 for pre-registration and $25 on site for the 5K. The Fun Run is $15 any time. Kids 3 and under are free. Register at runontexas.com.

“This is the second year for the Find Santa 5K and Fun Run, and I look forward to participating with all the runners and walkers that come out to Trophy Club Park,” Mayor Connie White said.

That same evening will be the Christmas Celebration at the Clock Tower, State Highway 114 and Trophy Club Drive. It lasts from 6:30-8 p.m.

There will be a variety of free tasty treats, Lakeview and Beck Elementary students will sing holiday songs, Mayor White will read ‘Twas The Night Before Christmas and Santa Claus will be there.

“My favorite part of the Christmas festivities is sitting under the Clock Tower and reading ‘’Twas The Night Before Christmas’ to all the children young and old,” White said.

On Saturday, Dec. 14 there will be Gingerbread House Decorating from 2:30-4:30 p.m. at Vinny’s Italian Restaurant, 2003 E. Hwy. 114. Cost is $25, and it includes bottomless coffee, sodas, cannolis and a gingerbread house kit. Only a handful of spots available, so register at www.tcparks.org.

“The Gingerbread House Decorating event not only supports local business, but also provides a new opportunity to bring residents together for a traditional holiday craft-making experience,” White said. “I love the idea that the town is partnering with local businesses for community events.”
