Soldier from Keller who died in Afghanistan is laid to rest

Chuck Kraut, a Navy veteran from North Richland Hills, salutes Saturday as the hearse bearing the body of Army Staff Sgt. Alex Anthony Viola of Keller passes along Glade Road in Hurst on its way to Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park in Colleyville. Viola, 29, was fatally wounded by an improvised explosive device on Nov. 17 in the Kandahar province of Afghanistan. Viola had been in Afghanistan for five weeks on his first deployment with the Army 7th Special Forces Group. His funeral was at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Keller.
