Hometown Holidays

The annual Hometown Holidays event is set for 6-9 p.m. at City Hall, 1200 E. Broad St. Admission is free. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be in attendance.

December 7

Holiday parade

The Hometown Holidays Parade will roll down Main Street, starting at 2:30 p.m. The annual parade begins at St. Jude Catholic Church on East Dallas Street, turns north on Main Street, east on Oak Street, south on Smith Street, east on Broad Street, then south on Waxahachie Street to wind up back at the church. Free.

Elvis tribute

Farr Best hosts an Elvis Christmas Tribute show with the Fever Band at 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. Tickets are $20. The theater is located at 109 N. Main St. For more information, call (817) 453-1700 or go to

Tour of Homes

The Mansfield Women’s Club will host a Tour of Homes from 2-7 p.m. Tickets are $25 in advance, $30 at the door. For more information, go to

City Council meeting

The Mansfield City Council will meet at 7 p.m. at City Hall, 1200 E. Broad St. Meetings are open to the public. The meetings are also broadcast on Charter Communications channel 27. For more information, call (817) 276-4200.

Swing band

Breakfast with Santa

Mansfield’s FFA will host Breakfast with Santa from 7:30-11 a.m. at Ben Barber Career Tech, 1120 W. Debbie Lane. Breakfast will include pancakes, sausage and eggs. Visit with Santa and hear a story from Mrs. Claus. Adult breakfast is $5, children are $3.

The Mansfield school board will meet at 7 p.m. in the Mansfield ISD Center for Performing Arts, 1110 W. Debbie Lane. The meeting is open to the public.

Stretch your legs in the annual Winter Walk from 9 a.m.-noon, starting at Katherine Rose Park, 303 N. Walnut Creek Park. Take the long way -- to McKnight Park and back -- or the short route, straight to Town Park. Free!

Students in the Mansfield school district will have early release. Elementary school students will attend from 8 a.m.-noon, intermediate students from 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., middle school from 8:45 a.m.-12:45 p.m. and high school from 7:25-11:25 a.m. For more information, go to

Bethlehem Baptist Church will host the annual Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration at 5 p.m. at the church, 1188 W. Broad St. Admission is free and everyone is welcome.
