Alabama kicker Cade Foster, a former Southlake Carroll High School standout, received threats on Twitter after he missed three field-goal attempts Saturday night in the No. 1 Crimson Tide’s 34-28 last-second loss to No. 4 Auburn.

Tide star linebacker CJ Mosley went on Twitter to defend his teammate and call out some Alabama fans as spoiled, Yahoo! Sports reported.

Mosley’s tweet: “You fake a-- bama fans stop sending threats to my teammate, you spoiled ******, respect what we do and know we all human! And that's REAL!”

Alabama quarterback AJ McCarron tweeted: “Love my team!! Salute to AU players Great program but let me say this we win & lose as a team. If u blame this on 1 guy U aren't a true fan!

Foster, a senior, missed field goals from 44, 34 and 44 yards in the loss, which ended Alabama’s undefeated season and seemingly its hopes for a chance at a third consecutive BCS national championship.

On the final play with 1 second left before overtime, Alabama turned to freshman Adam Griffith to replace Foster, whose potential clinching 44-yarder was kicked low and blocked in the final minutes. Griffith was only 1 of 2 all season with a long of 20 yards.

Griffith’s 57-yard attempt was short. Auburn’s Chris Davis caught the ball about 9 yards deep in the end zone and returned it more than 100 yards for the winning touchdown as time expired.
