Height: 6-foot-1 Weight: 210

Season: 16th College: Michigan

Strengths: He has terrific hands, good enough to be a receiver. If a ball hits his hands, it usually stays there. Ed Reed, with 61 interceptions, is the only active player with more than Woodson’s 56. … Woodson also has good open-field running skills. He has 11 interception returns for a touchdown. Turnovers seem to happen near him. He has 11 fumble recoveries in his career. … He is a strong leader in the locker room and an intelligent player.

Weaknesses: The Green Bay Packers released him last year because of declining cover skills. He was playing safety in his last year in Green Bay. … He had a broken collarbone last year in October. He did not have any interceptions after he came back.

Last week: He had eight tackles against Tennessee. He was the Raiders’ third-leading tackler in the game.

Who has to stop him? It’s up to Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo to influence Woodson out of coverage. It won’t be easy. Woodson is a veteran who has seen every offense and fake in the NFL.

Notable: Woodson is the only player in NFL history with an interception return for a touchdown in six consecutive seasons. … He has made the Pro Bowl in three different decades. … Woodson is one of four players with an interception in 16 consecutive seasons.
