Arlington police are seeking the public’s help in identifying a man suspected of robbing two banks in less than half an hour Monday and possibly casing a third.

The first robbery occurred about 1 p.m. at the First Convenience Bank inside the Kroger grocery store in the 2200 block of South Fielder Road.

The man told the teller that he had a gun but never displayed one. He passed a note demanding money, then fled with an undisclosed sum.

About 15 minutes later, a man matching the description of the earlier robber walked into the First Convenience Bank inside the Kroger in the 2500 block of East Arkansas Lane. Again, he said he had a gun and handed the teller a note.

He fled with an undisclosed amount of cash in a maroon 2000 Chevrolet truck, police said.

About 15 minutes before the first robbery, employees at another First Convenience Bank inside the Kroger in the 900 block of West Lamar Boulevard saw a similar-looking man “acting odd and nervous.”

He left without incident but is believed to be the same man who robbed the other banks, police said.

The robber is described as 18 to 22 and about 5 foot 8, with a medium build. Anyone with information about his identity is asked to call Arlington robbery Detective D. Dewall at 817-459-5739 or Crime Stoppers at 817-469-TIPS (8477).

Tipsters, who can remain anonymous, are eligible for a reward up to $1,000.
