Homicide detectives are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at his south Fort Worth duplex Monday.

Police were called to the 1900 block of San Rafael Street shortly before noon. According to call details, someone called 911, reporting they’d heard a gunshot, followed by someone screaming, “I’ve been shot.”

Police arrived to find a man with a gunshot wound to the upper torso. He was transported to John Peter Smith Hospital where he was later pronounced dead, according to Sgt. Kelly Peel, a police spokesman.

His identity has not been released as of Monday night.

Police Sgt. Joe Loughman said the shooting occurred inside an attached garage at the doorway leading into the residence. No arrests had been made, he said.

“Homicide detectives are attempting to identify and locate any witnesses,” Loughman said.

The neighborhood is in south Fort Worth near Sycamore School and Crowley roads.
