It’s a quick turnaround for the TCU women’s basketball team as the Horned Frogs host Grambling State at 7 p.m. Monday, two days after a 63-50 victory over Texas State.Rebounding helped win an ugly shooting game for TCU (2-1) on Saturday and has become a positive for this year’s team, which averages 47.3 rebounds per game after averaging just 37.4 last season.Grambling State enters Monday’s contest 1-2, both losses coming at the hands of common opponents with the Frogs.The Lady Tigers dropped their season opener to Baylor 110-55, then lost to SMU 87-65 on Nov. 10, the Sunday before TCU lost to SMU 72-68.Grambling State features a big lineup, with four players over 6-foot, the tallest being sophomore forward Jaylan Bodiford.Four of Grambling’s five starters average at least 9.3 points per game and also average at least 5 rebounds. Guard Joanna Miller is the Lady Tigers’ top scoring threat, averaging 15.3 points and 7.3 rebounds per game. Grambling hasn’t been much of a threat from behind the arc this season, averaging just 19.4 percent from 3-point range. The Lady Tigers have also allowed an average of 83 points per game, but that is against tough competition in Baylor and SMU. While her season has been fairly quiet to date, sophomore guard Zahna Medley leads the Horned Frogs in scoring with 19.7 points per game and is shooting 56 percent from 3-point range.
