The driver of a station wagon killed Friday when he crashed into a garage was identified by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner as 39-year-old Gaylon Moore.

Police say Moore of Fort Worth was speeding away from an earlier wreck about a half-mile away when he crashed into a home at Culver Avenue and eastbound Southwest Boulevard (Texas 183).

A 6-year-old boy who climbed out of the vehicle was taken to Cook Children’s Medical Center with minor injuries. The boy was secured in a child safety seat and suffered no significant injuries, said Officer Daniel Segura, a Fort Worth police spokesman.

Segura said police do not know why Moore fled the first accident. He died about 4 p.m. Friday at John Peter Smith Hospital, according to the medical examiner’s office.
