Grapevine Faith never led in its TAPPS Division II playoff game with Dallas Parish Episcopal, but the Lions didn’t go down without a fight.

Grapevine Faith (6-5) stormed back from a 30-13 deficit and came within 21 yards of a victory.

But a crucial sack sealed the 30-27 win for Parish Episcopal at Gloria H. Snyder Stadium.

The Panthers (8-3) will face defending state champion Midland Christian next week.

Lions quarterback Cam Roane was hit early and often, but that didn’t stop him from righting the ship midway through the second quarter with a 12-play touchdown drive.

Roane threw for 242 yards and three touchdowns.

Dominic Williams ran for 257 yards for Parish Episcopal, which outgained Grapevine Faith 561-249. Parish Episcopal was also penalized 15 times for 104 yards.
