Stop trying to raise taxes

To the Keller City Council and the Keller ISD Board of Directors: The citizens of Keller have clearly spoken for the second time in thirty months. We are all taxed out and would appreciate if you would stop trying to raise our taxes!

In 2011 Keller ISD attempted to raise our school tax rate to the highest in the State of Texas. The voters said no! Last week the Keller City Council attempted to raise our taxes to take out $8,200,000 in debt to pay for special projects and other miscellaneous items. Again the voters said no!

With the combination of higher taxes from Obamacare, rising insurance premiums, above average gas prices and generally higher costs for everything our kids participate in we are all taxed out. So please don’t bring any additional tax increases to us in the future. In fact, we would appreciate if you actually looked for ways to reduce our high property taxes.

George Curry, Keller
