Plans for a festival Holiday Tea presented by New World United Methodist Women are set for Saturday at the church at 2201 N. Davis Dr. from 1-3 p.m.

“We will have a high tea with entertainment. Our table hostesses will decorate their table for Thanksgiving or Christmas with their own china and table decorations. About a dozen men of our church husbands, sons and friends will be our servers. We will have scones, tea sandwiches, a variety of cookies and several great teas; everything you would expect at high tea,” said event spokeswoman Bonnie Williams.

Popular historian, actress, author and humorist Rose-Mary Rumbly is the headliner on the program. Rumbly will keep the audience laughing as she talks about The First Thanksgiving was really in Texas.

“This is our third year to have a High Tea fundraiser at New World and always lots of fun,” said Williams who worked on the event committee with President Leslie Qualman and UMW Vice President Audrey Koepp.

Tickets are $15 and are available at the door. Funds raised benefit Arlington Urban Ministries, Arlington Charities, and Wesley Foundation at UTA.
