Police arrested a 17-year-old Sam Houston High School student Thursday on suspicion of sexual assault of a child.

Devan Rashad Works was listed in the Arlington Jail log Friday. Bail had not been set.

A 16-year-old girl reported about 12:15 p.m. Thursday that she and Works were kissing in the hallway at the school, then went into a restroom, where the behavior apparently became nonconsensual, police said in a statement.

Officers interviewed both teens and arrested Works at the school, in the 2000 block of Sam Houston Drive, according to police documents. Detectives have worked with the Arlington school district throughout the investigation.
