High school volleyball

The volleyball playoffs were set to begin Tuesday as the Arlington ISD sends Arlington High, Martin and Lamar into the 5A brackets. Bowie, Sam Houston and Seguin ended their seasons last Tuesday.

All bi-district games were played after the print deadline; see for results.

•  The Lady Colts sealed up the District 3-5A championship, going undefeated and dropping just seven games all year in more than 40 games played.

Arlington was scheduled to square off at 7 p.m. Tuesday against Keller Timber Creek, a young program which made the playoffs for the first time in school history thanks to winning a hard-fought play-in game against Keller last Friday, 3-2.

The bi-district game was at Hurst L.D. Bell.

•  Martin had just two losses throughout district and both came to Arlington. The Lady Warriors entered the bi-district round as the second-place seed from 3-5A and drew Keller Central, which finished its district run with a 10-4 mark, losing twice to powerhouse Southlake Carroll and once each against Keller and Euless Trinity.

The game was scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at Grapevine High School.

•  Lamar squeaks in as the fourth-place seed after losing a play-in last week to North Crowley and naturally gets the toughest draw. The Lady Vikings were set to face Southlake Carroll, a team which won every set of each of its district games to take the 4-5A title.

The game was scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Keller Central.
