Christmas assistance available

Bethlehem Baptist Church will register families for Christmas assistance from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Nov. 9 at 1188 W. Broad St.

Parents can register to receive help for children from birth to age 12. Parents or guardians must provide a photo ID, proof of residence, proof of income, birth certificates and a Social Security card for each child.

Church hosts Upward basketball and cheerleading

First Methodist Mansfield is offering Upward Basketball and Cheerleading for children in kindergarten through sixth grade. Every child plays, every child learns and every child is a winner!

Early registration is $78 per child and includes a uniform, awards and equipment. After Nov. 8 the cost goes up to $88. Deadline to sign up is Nov. 12. Practices start the week of Dec. 10, with games beginning in January.

St. Jude plans monthly Bingo

St. Jude Catholic Church will now offer Bingo every month instead of every other month. Bingo packets are $25 to play 14 games. Cover all guarantee payout is $300.

The hall opens at 6 p.m. with first call at 6:30 p.m. Food and drinks will be available for purchase.

Upcoming dates for Bingo are Nov. 9 and Dec. 14 at the St. Jude Parish Hall on the corner of Graves and Dallas streets.

Knights present Elvis Night

Come get all shook up by the music of Elvis Presley at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 13 at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 2625 S. Cooper St. in Arlington. The Knights of Columbus Assembly 2112 present Las Vegas headliner Kraig Parker. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $15. Beer, setups and concessions will be available.

The Knights will donate their share of ticket sales to local charities.

First Baptist holds Upward Basketball

Registration for Upward Basketball at FBC Mansfield is now open. You can register online or stop by the church office at 1800 E. Broad St. Early registration is $90; after Nov. 11, the cost will increase to $105. Deadline for registration is Dec. 12.

Basketball shorts are included at no additional cost. Everyone must attend one basketball evaluation. Evaluations will take place at the FBC Gym for kindergarten through sixth grade for boys and girls from 5-6:30 p.m. Dec. 2 or from 5-6:30 p.m. Dec. 5. Practices will begin the week of Jan. 6. The first game will be Jan. 25.
