Actress and singer Selena Gomez will provide the halftime entertainment to kick off the Salvation Army’s Red Kettle campaign on Thanksgiving Day, the Cowboys announced Sunday.

Gomez, 21, was born in Grand Prairie.

“Come and Get It,” the lead single from her first solo album, “Stars Dance,” made it into the top 10 of Billboard’s Hot 100.

The Red Kettle campaign kicks off each year at halftime of the Thanksgiving Day game. The Cowboys play the Oakland Raiders.

Previous performers include Kenny Chesney, Enrique Iglesias and Keith Urban.
