Lake Dallas receiver Keegan Brewer scored on the biggest plays of each half against White Settlement Brewer, paving the way for the Falcons’ 41-14 victory at Bear Stadium in a District 5-4A game on Friday.
Lake Dallas’ Brewer pulled in a Dagan Haehn pass and raced 64 yards for the first score, setting the tone for the rest of the game. Haehn finished with 247 yards passing and five touchdowns. He ran for another score.
In the second quarter, Brewer (3-6, 0-6 in district) looked as if it might drive in for a score after converting a fake punt into a first down. The Bears drove to the Falcons’ 30 before Lake Dallas’ Courtenay Holder intercepted a Brewer pass. Holder had two interceptions.
Lake Dallas (5-4, 2-4) picked off four interceptions, its third by Cooper Davenport. The Falcons had to drive just 16 yards for their second score. Haehn finished off the final 4 yards for the touchdown.
Lake Dallas led 14-0 at halftime. The Falcons’ Brewer hauled in a 73-yard touchdown pass early in the third quarter for a 20-0 lead.
He had three catches — all for touchdowns — and 171 yards.
Brewer backup quarterback Brian Kueck was 15 of 16 passing in the second half for 168 yards and two TDs.
