Fort Worth Paschal squeaked by North Crowley 21-20 on Friday at Panther Stadium, winning on the final play of the game to stay in the mix for a playoff spot.
Pashcal quarterback Gibson Duwe completed an 18-yard touchdown pass to Kelly Darrough on fourth-and-five with no time left on the clock. Christian Vasquez made the extra point to clinch the victory.
Paschal (6-3, 3-3 District 3-5A) gained 255 yards through the air with Dylan Thomas completing 14-of-23 for 157 yards and Duwe hitting 8 of 14 for 98 yards Six receivers had catches, including seniors Darrell James (10 catches, 130 yards) and Justin Woodard for (four catches, 40 yards).
Junior Kris Barnes led North Crowley (1-8, 1-5) with 186 yards on 28 carries, despite being sidelined by an injury in the fourth quarter. He gained 177 yards in the first half.
Paschal struck first with an 8-yard run by Kelley Darrough. North Crowley answered with a 5-yard run by Henderson, but the extra-point attempt failed.
North Crowley took the lead on its first completion of the game as sophomore Keith Thomas found junior Rodney Stewart in the end zone with 7:19 to go in the game.
