Alexis Flores kicked a 24-yard field goal with 5 seconds left to lift Fort Worth Carter-Riverside over Fort Worth North Side, 27-26, in a District 6-4A game Friday night at Scarborough-Handley Field.
It was a heartbreaking loss for winless North Side (0-9, 0-8), which led 26-10 in the fourth quarter and seemingly had the game in hand.
Carter-Riverside (2-7, 2-5) scored the last 17 points with less than 8 minutes in the game.
Flores, a sophomore, was good on all three PATs and a 32-yard field goal on the game’s opening drive.
