Police in Grand Prairie have released the name of the man who died Wednesday afternoon in a single-vehicle wreck.

Yoseff Anwar Gosey, 23, was identified Thursday by Sgt. Eric Hansen, supervisor of the Grand Prairie Police Department’s traffic section. Gosey most recently lived in Houston, Hansen said.

Police withheld his name Wednesday because next of kin had not yet been notified of his death.

The wreck was reported about 1 p.m. Wednesday on Texas 161, also called the President George Bush Turnpike, near its intersection with Egyptian Way.

A 2000 Honda CRV was northbound on the frontage road when the driver lost of control. The CRV flipped over a retaining wall and landed on the northbound lanes of the highway, police said.

Gosey, who died at the scene, was the only person in the CRV, and no other vehicles were involved, police said.
