Fort Worth Wyatt’s Javonte Adams rushed for 261 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Chaparrals past Fort Worth Trimble Tech 42-13 at Clark Stadium on Thursday night.
Adams needed only 16 carries to gain more yards than the entire Trimble Tech offense as Wyatt dominated yardage, plays and time of possession. Tech had just 245 yards of total offense while Wyatt piled up 453.
The victory was the first District 7-4A win of the season for Wyatt (2-7, 1-5) and ruined Senior Night for Trimble Tech (2-7, 1-5).
The Chaparrals broke the game open in the second quarter when they scored on three offensive plays in a row. Each play started off left tackle and featured a Wyatt player racingdown the left sideline for a touchdown of more than 50 yards.
Adams first scored on a 61-yard run, breaking free after a pile of Bulldogs seemed to have him stopped near the line of scrimmage. Cameron Randles scored on a 56-yard run the next time Wyatt had the ball, and Adams followed with a 53-yard touchdown.
Adams also scored on a 14-yard run in the second quarter, piling up 204 yards on 11 carries before halftime.
Running back Daylon Tarkington shined for the Bulldogs, touching the ball on 22 of Trimble Tech’s 42 offensive plays. Tarkington carried the ball 21 times for 162 yards, including a 61-yard gain late in the fourth quarter. He also caught a pass for 17 yards.
Austin Davis scored both Trimble Tech touchdowns in the second quarter on quarterback sneaks.
