The Lions (4-2) have prepared during their bye week for the final game of the season against Cornerstone Christian Academy, which will be played at 5 p.m. Friday in Granbury.

In a match-up earlier in the season, Weatherford Christian beat Cornerstone, 66-26.

The Lions have had an extra week of preparation after their scheduled game with St. Paul Preparatory on Oct. 18 was canceled because of injuries on the St. Paul squad.

With two weeks off, the Lions are planning on the return of two injured players, junior Chandler Hill and sophomore Austin Wheeling. As of now, sophomore Cooper Bomar’s status is day-to-day.

“We are excited to get Chandler and Austin back and we are optimistic about Cooper’s return,” Coach Stephen Cox said. “It will be a tough game. It is always harder to beat a team a second time in the same season.”
