A place we love

I’m a senior citizen, retired educator and have lived in Fort Worth since 1969.

In 2004, the Fort Worth school board asked me to come out of retirement to serve as interim superintendent for 14 months.

While serving as superintendent, if there were problems in the bond program, and there were, I would turn to the “go-to guy,” Walter Dansby, to get things fixed. Mr. Dansby never failed to do what was right, and now he is superintendent.

The board and superintendent currently are proposing a bond plan. After reviewing the recommendations, and because my grandchildren and 80,000 other children attend schools in the Fort Worth district, I support it.

At my age, I try not to waste time. So I voted on the first day of early voting for all three propositions.

A vote for is an investment in the future of Fort Worth, a place we all love.
