Ever drive through an intersection and think “that’s an accident waiting to happen”? Or navigate a treacherous road and wonder “why doesn’t somebody do something about that?”

If so, the Star-Telegram invites you to take a look at our new video feature: Brace for Impact.

Armed with a video camera and tips from readers, transportation writer Gordon Dickson is hitting the North Texas streets in search of troublesome traffic spots. His goal is to highlight dangerous areas and learn from decision-makers whether there are plans to fix them anytime soon.

The Brace for Impact videos will appear periodically at star-telegram.com, on our iPad app and in other digital products.

The first episode focuses on an area of Heritage Trace Parkway in far north Fort Worth, where throngs of motorists coming in and out of Alliance Town Center cross a six-lane thoroughfare that lacks traffic signals.

If you know of a particularly tricky traffic spot that you believe would be a good candidate for an episode of Brace for Impact, send an email to gdickson@star-telegram.com.
