Stars play eight of their next 10 on the road, where their record is 1-4-0. ... Dallas, 0-4 on the power play, wasted Kari Lehtonen’s 37-save game Saturday, losing 2-1 at home to Winnipeg.

About the Sabres: Buffalo is dead last in the NHL. A Buffalo News headline on Dallas coach Lindy Ruff’s return to Buffalo, where he was fired in February: “Ruff should thank his lucky Stars he’s gone.” ... C Steve Ott, who played 11 seasons with the Stars, faces Dallas for the first time since the July 2012 trade. ...
