Man stabbed to death in Fort Worth fight

A fight left one man dead early Sunday in a parking lot on Sappington Place, police said.

Investigators found a suspect in the case, but he was released from custody pending further investigation, said Fort Worth Officer Daniel Segura, a department spokesman, on Sunday.

The name of the victim was not released.

Police responded to a stabbing call about 3 a.m. Sunday in the 3100 block of Sappington Place. Officers arrived to find the stabbing victim dead.

The investigation revealed that the victim approached the suspect and words were exchanged, Segura said. A fight ensued, and during the fight the victim was stabbed, according to police reports.

Police released no additional details.
