Antoine Stevenson’s four touchdowns helped send Saginaw Boswell to a 49-19 win Friday night over Fort Worth Eastern Hills at Pioneer Stadium.
The win improved Boswell to a 5-3 record overall and to 5-1 in District 6-4A. Eastern Hills fell to 3-5, 3-3.
Stevenson rushed for 78 yards on 19 carries, helping the Pioneers to 139 yards on the ground. Quarterback Drew Bicknell added three touchdowns through the air and 192 passing yards, as Boswell amassed 337 yards overall.
Bicknell’s game did not start the way he wanted. His attempted pass fell into the hands of Eastern Hills’ Isaiah White, who ran it in for a touchdown, the first points against Boswell after two games of holding its opponents scoreless.
The Pioneers opened up a 21-6 lead, however, on two Stevenson runs from inside the 5. Bicknell then hit Scott Moody for 23 yards for his first touchdown of the game.
Eastern Hills’ Ja’Kyrus Clark scored on a 19-yard touchdown late in the first half to bring the Highlanders back to within 21-12.
However, Bicknell came out blazing in the second half. He connected with Sean Webster for a 23-yard score, and after an onside kick recovery, he hit Chandler Freeseman for 20 yards for a 42-12 lead.
