KELLER — Keller Timber Creek missed its chances in the first half, scoring just three points on three possessions inside the Justin Northwest 25-yard line.
The Texans didn’t miss their chances in the second half, turning a 21-3 halftime lead into a 49-10 District 4-5A victory at Keller ISD Athletic Complex.
Northwest (6-2, 3-2) racked up 354 yards offense, with 246 of that on the ground, including 107 and two touchdowns from Dennis Adrole on 17 carries. Texans teammate Chase Morrison added 95 yards on six carries and two touchdowns.
Timber Creek (2-6, 1-4), which ended the night with 257 yards, moved the ball well at times, but couldn’t convert its chances. It threw 30 times, completing 16, including its only touchdown of the game, coming on a 32-yard pass from Konner Pittman to Recie Saunders.
Leading by 18 at the half, the Northwest defensebent, but didn’t break and forced a Timber Creek punt. Emmanuel Moore returned the kick 71 yards for a touchdown and a 28-3 lead.
Two possessions later, following a Falcons fumble, led to 32-yard touchdown run by Morrison, who also had a 15-yard scoring run in the second quarter. Adrole scored on an 18-yard run just under three minutes into the fourth quarter to make it 42-3.
After Timber Creek’s touchdown, Northwest’s Reggie McDaniel returned the kickoff 64 yards for the final points of the game.
Northwest only attempted 12 passes, with Jesse Drummer completing six for 108 yards, including a touchdown pass to Emmanuel Moore for the team’s second TD.
